MNF vs the Vikings

Posted on: April 1, 2008 1:22 pm

Hi all...

Not too much to report since until the draft this is a slow time. And I have the great privilege of dealing with a nasty cold.

Really the only thing of great interest going on right now is the Packers first opponent of the 2008 season has been announced and it is none other than the Minnesota Vikingsqueens! And...it just gets better...it will be at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football! Could Aaron Rodgers ask for a better starting debue? I think not.

Can't wait for the draft... in the meantime, hang on to your cheezheads.

Later peeps.

MNF vs the Vikings

I think this is the perfect date to honor Favre and retire his number with the nation watching.  As for Rodgers, I am unsure as to what I feel with him being thrown to the NFC Norris right away.  I would have preferred a non rival to start the season.  I never like playing the Bears, Vikings or Lions in the first two weeks.

MNF vs the Vikings

I agree...I can't wait to watch Darren Sharper squirm in his jock strap while watching Brett Favre's jersey be retired...something that should never happen to him.

MNF vs the Vikings

I'm gonna disagree that this is the game that Favre's jersey should be retired.  When Green Bay hosts the Bears is the game it should be retired.  The rivalry with the Bears is older, and in my opinion, fiercer and filled with greater players.  Also, the GB/Chi game could be put on Sunday Night Football.  If the game was on NBC, millions more people would be able to view the retirement of one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time (I still find it tough to put Favre above Elway).  Still, it should be a very entertaining game to watch and will be a test right off the bat for Rodgers.

MNF vs the Vikings

I know the rivalry is more intense with the Bears.  The Viking rivalry and Bear rivalry don't really compare, but if recent memory serves me correctly both teams have not had much success when honoring former players against each other.

MNF vs the Vikings

If they had put the Packers vs. @ Lambeau on MNF, I'd be all for that, in fact I'd prefer it. But I'd rather have it on MNF against the Vikings then just a regular game against the Bears. This way the whole world will be watching. Everybody will see Brett the way the should... at Lambeau Field... Monday Night Football... in all his glory.
